FORBURY PARK CLUB

TO-MORROW’S PROSPECTS

Cameronian’s splendid form to win at his last two starts has attracted attention to his prospects, and he will probably be sent out favourite for the Dunedin Cup Handicap, the main event at the Forbury Park Trotting Club’s meeting, which will be held to-morrow. Dunmore, Gold Peg, Liberty Bond, and Fancy Goods. are all smart performers on the scratch mark. Dunmore has been racing without luck in his recent races; but. as he indicated by finishing in third place to Cameronian and Dundee Sandy in the C. S. Howell Handicap at the Canterbury Park Trotting Club’s meeting on New Year’s Day, he is back to his best form again. A good stayer, Dunmore should be capable of a fast two miles on the five-furlong course at Forbury Park. Gold Peg raced well on the course when she recorded a win and a second placing at the Forbury Park Trotting Clubs meeting on October 12, and Liberty Bond has ■ also shown good form on this track. This Worthy Bond mare does not always go away smartly in her races, but if W. :. Butt can persuade her to leave the mark smoothly to-morrow, She has the ability to win. Elation and Jack’s Son will start from the 12 yards mark. Elation has shown his best form on heavy tracks, but unless he has conditions to suit him he makes little appeal. Jack’s Son has been prominent in his recent races, and a winning turn for him may not be far away. Nyallo Scott, Dundee Sandy, and Parrish Lad, which occupy the 24 yards rnark with Cameronian, all have good performances to their credit; but Cameronian is a high-class pacer, and he should noia them safely. . , _ ... The back-markers, Lady Dawn and Trusty Scott, appear to be set a hard tasl% and, in what should be a good betting race. Cameronian. Fancy Goods, Dunmore, and Gold Peg may carry most supP °Large fields are carded throughout the programme, and the clash between Southland and Canterbury horses should produce some fine contests during the day.
