FRIENDLY MATCH AT HAGLEY OVAL A friendly cricket match played at Hagley Oval yesterday, between Blue Star Taxis and “The Press,” resulted in a draw. Blue Star batted first, and made 124 for eight wickets, declared (C. McGrath 11. G. Tindall 10, J. Mallinson 18, W. Thrower 24, G. Purcell 20 not out, J. Stammers 18 not out). For “The Press, N. Archer took two wickets for 28 runs, N. Macbeth three for 31, G. Grimmer two for 12, A. Adams one for seven. “The Press” had scored 122 for seven wickets at stumps, Archer 30 (retired) Grimmer 31 (retired). A. R Cant 30, noy out. and Macbeth 21 being the best scorers. For Blue Star Taxis, Stammers took one for 8, Mallinson one for 12, and Purcell one for 25.
