BABY FOUND DEAD UNDER HEDGE

While they were playing in Linwood Park on Sunday morning, some boys found the dead body of a newly-born male child under a hedge. The boys notified the police, who are now conducting a search for tffe mother. A post-mortem examination made by Dr. A. B. Pearson, pathologist at the Christchurch Public Hospital, revealed that the child’s death was caused by hemorrhage of the surface of the brain. In his report he said that the hemorrhage could have been caused during the delivery of the child. The baby had abrasions about its face and skull.
