CHUMS’ CLUB
SPECIAL FILM PROGRAMMES FOR BOYS AND GIRLS Great interest is being shown in the Chums’ Club, which was organised in Christchurch recently, and a large number of boys and girls have already enrolled. This club, which is sponsored by the Liberty Theatre, has been formed “to fill a long-felt need for suitable, regular picture programmes for children.’’ The code of the club is: “I will honour and obey my parents”; “My life will always be at the service of God and my country”; “I will honour the brave, assist the poor, and help thp sick’’; and “I will always keep myself strong and clean, in thought and word and deed.”
The programme at the Liberty Theatre each week will consist of coloured cartoons and appropriate shorts, with a feature picture specially selected for children. Many novelty entertainments have also been arranged.
