SUPERANNUITANTS

Sir, —After several years of war, when prices were soaring all the time, superannuitants were left to struggle along as best they could, many of them below the old age pension mark, and were taxed oh that. The generous Government at last granted £26 cost of living bonus to lower-paid superannuitants, on which they are taxed 2s 6d in the £, while members of Parliament granted themselves £3OO rise, practically free of tax.— Yours, etc., ANOTHER SUPERANNUITANT. May 2, 1946.
