New Brighton T.C V Withdrawals for all events at the New Brighton Trotting Club’s meeting, to be held at Addington on Saturday next, mutt be received by 5 p.m. This Day (Tuesday) Advt. Jottings Mrs J. B. Paterson, Brookside, recently purchased the brood mare, Rosalind Maid, from Mr M. J. Argyle. Bred by Mr J. R. McKenzie, Rosalind Maid is by Great Bingen from the Peter Chenault mare, May Chenault. Double Deck is expected to race wtH at the Greymouth meeting on Saturday. His second to Lyndale at Geraldine was a good performnace. Loyal Chief lost his chance when M broke at the start of the Advance Htodicap. After being one of the leaders wttt two furlongs to go in the Strowan Handicap, Bonny Bridge did not finish on as expected, and was fifth to cross the line. Lady Goldworth, which finished second to Prince Lytton in both the trotting events at Kumara, is a six-year-old mare by Gold Bar from Lady Mackworth. Wee Jack disappointed when he broke early' in the Strowan Handicap. _ _ Gerfalcon did not impress as a Uky winner by his effort in the Aviation Handicap. _ Follow Me, which is trained by JYoung for Mrs M. L. Baird, looked wdl when he paraded in the Harewood Handicap. He should continue to pay expenses. Unfortunate Incident The first trotting event at Blenhahn yesterday was spoiled by Maryland breaking at the end of the first furlong bringing down Stammel and Ben Doo. Wild Flash led Prince Dale to the straight, where Prince Dale gradually drew to the front to have a comfortable win. Stammel completed the course to secure thlra money. Close Finish

Although a field of only four paraded in the Wither Trot at Blenheim yesterday there was a close finish between three « them. Wild Flash made the running w the straight from Ben Doo and Stammti» with Prince Dale, from the 60 yards mark, close up at that stage. Ben Doo headed Wild Flash inside the final furlong, and then challenged by Stammel on the outside and Prince Dale on the inside this trio had an exciting struggle, Ben Doo getting a head verdict from Stammel with Prince Dale a neck away. Promising Three-year-old Making his second appearance for tn« season, the. three-year-old gelding Maori Home gave a good display to win the Knapdale Trot at the Gore Racing Club s meeting in 3min 25 l-ssec. Owned ano trained by B. Rushton. he is by DiUon Hall from Native Home, which is by Native King from a Sonoma Harvester mareAt his first appearance this season Maori Home started in the Juvenile Stakes at the Wairio Trotting Club’s meeting on | December 8, but was beaten into twro place by Sure Bond and Winston Hall. Well Received Although she was one of the outsiders of the field, the public appreciated the merit of Lady Scott’s performance in win* ning the Aviation Handicap by two lengths from Fantom, and she was given a good reception on returning to tne birdcage. Lady Scott was driven W - J. B. Pringle, who. with 16 wins this season closely follows the Tempiet° n trainer, W. R. Butt, on the winning horsemen’s list.
