WOMEN’S REST ROOM

Sir,—l was one of the many women who went to the ladies’ rest room last Thursday. The woman in charge came along with keys dangling and locked the door in our faces. One of the women was nearly in tears. ■ She went into a picture place and was ordered out, so they said they would go down to the railway station as there were no other conveniences. One lady had three children. She was just stranded. That was at 4.45 p.m. last Thursday. I often wonder what would happen if there were no. ladies’ , waiting room in the drapery shops.—Yours, etc., ONE WHO WAS LOCKED OUT. May 15, 1945. [An officer of the City Council said that the rest room was closed for an hour because of an interruption in the water supply.]
