POLISH FORCES IN WARSAW
SUPPLIES DROPPED BY AIR LONDON. Sept. 23 Allied aircraft from Italy on Friday dropped more supplies and arms to Polish patriots 'in Warsaw, completing the 1700-mile trip for the sixth day running. They dropped German ammunition captured in Italy which can be used in the German guns the Poles have captured. “The Poles in Warsaw have established contact with Russian advanced elements on the western bank of the Vistula,” says General Bors’s com munique from Warsaw. “British aeroplanes dropped more arms and ammunitioh.” “General Bors has disclosed that the supplies dropped to Warsaw by Fly ing Fortresses on September 13 helped the Poles to pin down five German divisions,” says the Polish Telegraph Agency. , ‘.‘General Bors’s disclosure was made after the news that Mr Churchill and Mr Roosevelt during the Quebec conference had ordered the use of Flying Fortresses. General Bors also disclosed that during the first 51 days to September 21, 274 German tanks, armoured cars, and selfpropelled guns were destroyed in Warsaw."
