-> ♦ AIRCRAFT HAND KILLED CRUSHED BENEATH HEAVY CASE (P.A.) AUCKLAND, September 23. .Fatal injuries were received by a member of the R.N.Z.A.F., Robert Barcham Chandler, aged 39, an aircraft hand, whose wife lives in Wanganui, this morning. , He was . working- a mechanical hoist at the Parnell depot when a two-ton case fell from the stack and he was crushed beneath it, suffering head injuries. He died shortly after admission to hospital; BURNS FROM OVEN When an oven caught fire in a flat at 10 Cashel street yesterday afternoon, Patricia Middleton, aged 17, daughter of the occupier of the flat, and Verne Stewart, aged 18, of 329 Tuam street, suffered slight burns and shock and were admitted to the Christchurch Public Hospital, where the condition of both was reported to be satisfactory last evening. The Christchurch Fire Brigade was called to the fire, and the flames were extinguished without difficulty, only slight damage being done. MAN INJURED WHEN CAR OVERTURNS R. Stockdale. a member of the crew of an overseas vessel, was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital suffering from concuss* n after a car in which he was travelling overturned m Paterson avenue, Halswell, last evening. His condition was reported as satisfactory. *
