APPLICATION FOR STATE HOUSE

Sir—First of all I must thank “The Press” for publishing my letter, which was written in all sincerity and not for political purposes, as stated by Mr Macfarlane. I have come to the conclusion also that Mr Macfarlane has probably never been placed in the same, position as I am; otherwise he would be a bit more sympathetic for others. lam very sorry if I upset him by being anonymous, but he is welcome to my name and address if he likes to call at “The Press” office, and then possibly he might come across my neglected letter. Lastly, with all due respect to Mr Macfarlane, I hope he will not blame me altogether for his position at the poll on Saturday Yours, etc., HOMELESS HECTOR. May 30, 1944.
