A marriage has been arranged between Miss' Theresa Stern, London, England, and Mr A.. E. Kerr. Belmont, Cave. The engagement is announced of Godfrey Denis (GeolT) Fogarty (2nd N.Z.E.F., Middle East Forces), youngest son of Mr and Mrs M. J. Fogarty, Greymouth, and Margaret Mary, only daughter of Mr and Mrs J. H. Selby, Aylesbury, Canterbury. The engagement is announced of Patricia Mary, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs H. M Overton, Lakeside, to Roger Francis, elder son of Mr and Mrs A. F. Webb. Cashmere. Price of Apples.— ln a statement published yesterday, Mr H. R. Sampson, Canterbury director of the New Zealand Fruitgrowers’ Federation, was reported as challenging the figure of 3s 3d for apples, quoted in the House of Representatives by Mr J. Thorn, ‘.P. for Thames. The figure should have read 3s lOd, the price received on the local market for some apples, the error occurring in the telephoning of the message. ;
