(P.A.) WELLINGTON* February 24. Miss Mabel Howard, the new Labour member of Parliament for Christchurch East, was sworn in by the Speaker (the Hon. W. E. Barnard) at a short sitting of the House after the opening of the session this afternoon. She was greeted with applause from both sides of the House on returning to her seat in the back of the cross benches.
