LIQUOR STOLEN FROM WAREHOUSE

(P.A.) AUCKLAND, Nov. 30. Fifteen cases of whisky, one case of gin, and one case of rum were stolen from the warehouse of Cooke and Company, Ltd., wine and spirit merchants, Auckland, during the week-end. The total cost of the stolen spirits to the merchants was £175.

The stock was being reserved for the Christmas trade, and the whisky was all in pint bottles. Not a bottle was left.

Entrance was gained by picking out the centre of a patent lock—apparently the work of an expert. The theft will further intensify the acute whisky shortage in Auckland.
