THE VICTORY
Sir, —I notice that we are at last waking up to the fact that ouf boys in Egypt must have a.rest. I beg of you not to let the matter drop. We owe it to these lads to bring them home. Some have had more continuous fighting than soldiers of any other country in the Empire. Don’t let us' make the mistake of the last war in keeping men at the front until they reach breaking point; lot us act now.—Yours, etc., M, SAGE. November 30, 1942.
Sir,—Tho Church has failed to give the lead. Will the Mayor at the civic service on Sunday next raise the note r High Thanksgiving in a “Te Deum." This will give the opportunity for the people to join in praise to God for his great deliverance. Our men have done their part and many of them have given their lives.—Yours, etc., JOHN SIMPKINSON. December 1, 1942.
