' # COMPLAINT OF INCREASE IN PRICES Allegations that some Christchurch milk vendors have increased the price of half-pints of milk from IJd to 2d without authority, are to be referred by the City Council to the Department of Industries and Commerce. The question was raised at a recent council meeting, and an inquiry was made from the Price Tribunal whether it had sanctioned an increase in the price of half-pint?. Last evening the council had before it the tribunal’s reply that no alteration in price had been authorised and that consumers were entitled to milk at the same prices as obtained before zoningCr. H. He thought the question should be referred to the appropriate authorities. Cr. M. E. Lyons; I can supply them with some evidence. Cr. Denton said some offices in town had paid IJd for half a pint until recently, when the price was raised to 2d. Cr. Lyons said he had refused to paf 2d at his office.
