MAILS TO AKAROA
♦ CONSIDERATION BY RAILWAY DEPARTMENT The railway authorities in IChristchurch had been interviewed about tne delivery of mails to Banks Peninsula on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays the chairman (Mr Joseph Hayward) reported to the monthly meeting of the Akaroa County Council. The Transport Authority had not altered his decision to curtail tne through bus to Akaroa on these days, and a request had been made to tne Railways Department to make arrangements for the conveyance to Akaroa of mails taken to Little River by the morning train. This proposal was now being considered by the railway authorities in Wellington, said Mr Hayward.
