Prentice (secretary of the board), Mr-G. W. Minson (architect), and Mr R. A. Rose (clerk of works) visited the Kaikoura Hospital on Friday to discuss with Mr 1. J. Monk (chairman of the Kaikoura County Council) and local representative on the North Canterbury Hospital Board, and with Dr. R. L. Withers (hospital doctor) and the matron of the hospital plans for the new maternity block which Is included nr the board’s plans for the current year. Authority for building this block has been received from the Director of Defence Construction and the DirectorGeneral of Health. Various other building matters were discussed with the local representatives and a report will be placed before the board at its meeting on Wednesday.
