ELECTION OF OFFICERS The annual meeting of the Piping and Dancing Association of New Zealand was held in Wellington recently. There were present: Messrs I. D. Cameron (Dominion president), R. L. Will (vice-presi-dent), M. Gray Nasmith (Dominion secretary), J. Glass (South Canterbury Centre), D. Macpherson (Otago Centre), P. Mackenzie (Auckland and Hawkes Bay Centres), C. Stewart and J. McKenzie (Wellington Centre). , The officers were erected as follows: — Patrons, Messrs C. S. Thomas (Christchurch) and Mackenzie Forbes (Hawkes Bay): Dominion president, Mr I. D. Cameron (Mauriceville); Dominion secretary, Mr M. Gray Nasmith (Wellington); treasurer), Mr D. Macpherson (Petone); vice-presidents, Messrs C. Stewart (Wellington), J. L. W. Gerken (Dunedin), A. McGowan (Auckland), J. McTavish (Auckland), John Cameron (Auckland), Dr. R. M. Gunn (Gisborne), Alasdair Macdonald (Longburn), R. L. Will (Christchurch), George Sey (Christchurch), J. MacLachlan (Christchurch'), Oliver Maclean (Greymouth), R. W. Munro (Timaru), J. Glass (Tlmaru), Albert Wheeler (Dunedin), Thomas M. Rankin (Invercargill), Charles Steven (Otautau), James D. Simpson (Wairoa), J..L. Campbell (New Plymouth), and the presidents of the various centres; Dominion Council Executive, Messrs C. Stewart (Wellington), A. Barclay (Wellington), E. McQueen (Wellington), W. Ross (Petone), R. J, Glasgow (Turaklna), T. S. Arcus (Carterton), John McKenzie (Masterton), J. W. Bird (Masterton), V. J. Nicholson (Palmerston North), P. Mackenzie (Wellington), N. Cruden (Longburn), together with the president, secretary, and treasurer ex officio, and also a representative from each centre: auditor, Mr P. Netge (Wellington). All remits submitted were carried, the most important being that no judge of national dancing shall compete in national dancing events at any gathering.
