TRAMWAY REVENUE

* IMPROVED RETURNS REPORTED An improvement of £3022 in the revenue account for the four weeks ended August 9, compared with the same period of last year, was reported to the Tramway Board yesterday. A surplus of £1390 was made on the lour weeks’ running, against a deficiency of £1632 for the same period last year. , Ticket sales increased from £18,871 to £23,956 and total revenue from £19,271 to £24,598. Operating expenses increased from £14,382 to £16,361 and standing charges from £6521 to £6487. The main increase in revenue was in cash fares, but smaller increases were shown in all other categories except apprentices’ tickets. The revenue lor these declined from £lB2 to £165.
