NEW BRIGHTON SURF CLUB

The membership of the New Brighton and the North Beach Surf Clubs has been so seriously depleted because of mobilisation that to provide facilities for beach patrols and rescue work women’s teams have been formed. The New Brighton Club, with Mr M. Butterick as instructor, has a team of seven who are taking a keen interest in their work. Practising on week days at the East Christchurch School and in week-ends at Cep.tral Brighton. Mr Percy % Butler (instructor at North Beach) has two teams in training. In a friendly competition at the week-end with the men’s team, the women put up a splendid performance.
