NEW BRIGHTON HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY

A special general meeting of the New Brighton Horticultural Society was held to receive the resignation of the president (Mr J. S. Ainsworth), who has . left the district. Mr Ainsworth has been president since the formation of the society. The resignation was accepted with regret, and it was decided to place on record appreciation of the services given to the society by Mr Ainsworth. The president is elected at the annual meeting, and no provision is made for filling the vacancy. The secretary reported that a number of new members had been elected and the finances of the society were in a good position. Arrangements were completed for the summer show to be held on February 7.
