FREE KINDERGARTEN ASSOCIATION CHRISTCHURCH BRANCH Ways and means of raising funds to carry. on the work of the kindergartens controlled by the Free Kin-/ dergarten Association during the war period were discussed at a meeting of the Christchurch association held recently. It was decided to form an organisation known as “Friends of Kindergarten,” with the object of interesting the pub c in the work and augmenting kindergarten funds. Arrangements ' were made for a series of card parties to be held at the Sydenham kindergarten next month, and for a jumble sale to be held this month. The contribution to be made by the association to war work was also discussed. It was thought that later on women with young children might be engaged in actory work, and kindergarten committees and staffs could help by taking care of the children during working hours. As there was no need for this at the present time, it was decided that the scheme could be brought up ,for consideration later.
