SOCIAL AND PERSONAL Mrs E. G. Kerr, jun., Mrs Basil Unwin, and Dr. W. H. Unwin are expected to return to-day from a visit to the Hermitage. Mrs P. Gresson (Invercargill) is staying with her sister, Mrs D. Unwin. Miss Hope Pinckney, who was staying with Mrs Unwin, left on her return south yesterday. Miss Dorothy Hervey (Christchurch) arrived yesterday to stay with Mrs G. Reid. Mrs James Scott and Miss Barbara Scott (Pareora) are visiting Wellington. BLENHEIM NEWS Miss Yolande Macdonald entertained several of her friends at an enjoyable sherry party at her home in Alfred street. Those present were: Misses Mary Latter (Kaikoura), Jeanette McArthur, Mary Western. Joan Griffin, Jocelyn Chaytor, Kathleen Hodson, Margaret Moore. E. and K. Gill, Molly Furnesg, F. Oswald, Pamela Parsons, and F. Tilson, Messrs D. Balfour, John Patterson. Pat Reid, Alister Adams, Michael Hoadley, Tom Horton, Stronach Smith, Ray Maskew, Bob Goldstone, S. Maxwell, Alan Monson, Peter Rudd, K. Blundell, D. Poynter, and J. McArthur. A pleasant time was spent at the Masonic Hotel, when Mr and Mrs E. Latter, “Kincaid Downs,” Kaikoura, gave a sherry party for their daughter Joan. Those present were Mr and Mrs J. Reid (Kaikoura), Mrs E. Good, and Mr and Mrs M. Dillon, Misses Mary Latter, Jocelyn Chaytor, Todhunter (2), Helen Acton-Adams, Margaret Moore, Pam Parsons, Yolande Macdonald, H. Harper, E. Gill, M. Mee, J. McArthur, N. Henning, F. Tilson, Jean Hursthouse, Kathleen Hodson, F. Oswald, , Lucas (Nelson), Lindsay Adams, Messrs E. and J. Good, D. Todhunter, A. and P. Adams, D. Balfour, B. Clouston, J. Moore, R. Waddy, C. and G. Patterson, Tom Horton, M. Hoadley, R. Maskew, H. Stace, K. Blundell, Stronach Smith, B. Goldstone, John McArthur, J. Patterson, and B. Masefield. Mrs W. Masefield (Ellerton), who has been spending a few days in Blenheim, has returned home.
