WEEK-END BIVOUAC

YEOMANRY CAVALRY AT CAVE

Excellent weather was experienced for the week-end bivouac of C Squadron of the Canterbury Yeomanry Cavalry, three South Canterbury troops of which underwent valuable training at Cave under Lieutenant E.' Kerr. Camp was entered on Friday night and was broken yesterday morning. The troops, which were from Geraldine. Cave (including.Pleasant Point), and Waimate, comprised 70 mem and horses, each troop consisting of three rifle and one Hotchkiss gun section. Troop, drill was held on Saturday and church parade was held on Sunday morning, with further troop drill in the afternoon. Tactical exercises in the I field were carried out on Labour Day.
