SUCCESS OF WATER DIVINING

INCREASED SUPPLY AT LITTLE EXPENSE The Sumner Borough Council has lately had prominence given to its. efforts to obtain water with the services of a water diviner. The Town Clerk (Mr J F. Menzies) recently took a hand" in -this method of finding water, and his reactions with a willow stick were subsequently confirmed by the diviner employed by the council. At Igst evening’s meeting of the Sumner Borough Council the Mayor (Mr J. E. Tait) said the councillors would be interested to know that the water divining project bad proved very satisfactory, and that 2000 gallons of water an hour, were coming from the new well divined by the Town Clerk. . . “I am afraid the sceptics will, have to bow to the water diviners, said Mr Cr. I. J. Wilson: They will probably say that it is pure luck. . „ “We have every reason to believe that .the flow will improve as the well is developed. «and atpresentit is going very nicely, said Mr Tait. w wfil have 6000 to 7000 gallons an hour more water available than we have had before, and with very little exPe Cr O J L. Gant who. at previous meetings had been the chief critic of water divining, arrived a few minutes late and did not hear the Mayor s report.
