BIRTHDAY PARTY AT AKAROA
A pleasant time was spent at the home of Mr and Mrs W. H. Taylor (“Te Whare Maunga,” Akaroa), when a number of the Akaroa High School girls paid a surprise visit to celebrate the birthday of Miss Marjorie Idle.
Games and competitions were enjoyed, and musical items were given by Misses Dorothy Armstrong and Barbara Naismith. . A birthday gift, in the form of a mystery parcel, was presented to the guest of honour on behalf of her fellow pupils. . , _ A birthday cake, the gift of Mrs Taylor, held pride of place on the supper table. ~ , Among those present were Mr and Mrs W. H. Taylor, Misses Betty Taylor Marjorie Idle, Aylmer Newton, Fay Pilkington, Dorothy Armstrong, Sheila Prendergast, Nancy Wright, Jeannette Woodill, Jean Stewart, Doreen Dann, Marjorie and Mary Walker, Melva Le Lievre. Maire May, Judith Helps, Barbara Naismith, Patty Mora. Elaine Le Lievre. Beverley Dalbethj' Morven Pool Moira Hammond, and Elizabeth Newton, and Master Frank Taylor.
