-> WIDE RANGE OF INTERESTS CATERED FOR City and country holiday-makers will be well catered for during the Christmas and New Year holiday season this year. Attractions both in Christchurch and further afield cover a wide range of interests. With provincial and Dominion lawn tennis tournaments, and two Plunket Shield cricket matches (against Auckland and Wellington) in Christchurch, the programme for the city is an attractive one. Followers of racing and trotting will find a number of meetings throughout Canterbury and on the West Coast to interest them. Other sports providing holiday fare include golf, bowls, athletics, shooting, rowing, and croquet. Several excursions have been arranged by the Railway Department, and city theatres are screening special holiday programmes.
