PASTOR NEIMOLLER IN CUSTODY

♦ OFFICIAL EXPLANATION OF CAUSE BERLIN, March 3. It is semi-officially confirmed that Pastor Niemoller, the German Confessional Church leader, was taken into protective custody after leaving the Court on March 2, "because certain excitement is rife among the population because of the mild sentence." It is stated that another reason for his detention is his indication during his trial that he would resume his activities after his release.
