FIGURES FROM METHVEN The following are the meteorological observations for the month of February as recorded by Mr James Carr, “Rudstone,” Methven. — Rain fell on 11 days, the maximum fall on any one day being 77 points on February 11. The total for the month was 2.69 inches, against 4.56 for February last year. The average rainfall for February during the last 29 years is 3.39 inches. The driest February during that period was in 1929, When only 21 points fell. The wettest February was in 1936, when 12.32 inches fell. The total rainfall for this year to date Is 8.49 inches, and for the same period of last year the fall was 9.47 Inches.

Tho highest barometer reading was 30.40 in on February 2. and the lowest 29.54 in on February 6. The highest reading of tho maximum thermometer was 8a degrees on February 25 and February 20. and the lowest was 47 degrees on February 3 and February 16, The lowest reading on the grass was 35 degrees on February 3. The ranj*e of temperature for the month was 16,3 degrees. The average mean temperature was 63.6 degrees. There were 159.2 hours of sunshine. Tho wind mileage was 2032, and the evaporation was 4.301 in.
