METHVEN BEATS IMPERIAL The Imperial Bowlin** Club (Christchurch) visted Methven on Saturday, and played a match against the Methven Club. Methven won by 98 points to 57. WAKANUI ROAD BOARD SUM OF £167 STILL OUTSTANDING A sum of £ 167 of the total rate of £1133 struck by the Wakanui Road Board for the current year is still Outstanding. This sum will incur the 10 per cent, penalty imposed by the board on all rates not paid by the end of February, This was •reported at the monthly meeting of the board yesterday afternoon. Those present at the meeting were—Messrs F. Frampton (chairman), L. Hanrahan, J. W. Watson, A. 'Bennett, and A. Gregory.
It was reported that maintenance work had been carried out on Railway, Gardner’s, Bridge, and Gibson’s roads during the month. During the last two weeks the road men had been engaged in shingling Christie’s road. It was decided that when this work was completed that a stretch of the Dromore road should be shingled.
