CHRISTIAN SCIENCE CHURCHES

♦ “Spirit” is the subject of the Lessonsermon in all Churches of Christ. Scientist, to-morrow. The Golden Text is; “Grieve not the holy spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption” (Galatians, 4:20). Among the citations which comprise the Lesson-sermon are the following from the Bible: “For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary the one to the other; so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.” (Galatians, 5:17.) The Lesson-sermon also contains the following passage from the Christian Science text book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.” by Mary Baker Eddy: “No more sympathy exists between the flesh and Spirit than between Belial and Christ.”
