SURFING TEAM FOR AUSTRALIA
DEPARTURE OF NEW ZEALAND REPRESENTATIVES The Canterbury representatives in the New Zealand surf team to visit Australia will leave Christchurch tonight for Wellington, where the team will assemble. The Canterbury members are A. T. Dalton, A. T. F. Stokes, D. H. Symes, and J. A. Young. They will be accompanied by the manager , of the team (Mr H. S. Feast), who is I president of the Canterbury Surf LifeSaving Association, and by H. Goldsmith, who is making the trip' with the team to compete in junior surf races at Bondi and Manly. The other members of the team are R. Pelham, D. K. Evans, J. T. Clark, and J. Williams (Wellington), E. J. Stevens (Auckland), and F. G. Ryan (Taranaki). Messrs V. Allen, C. E. Claridge, and E. Hughes (Wellington) will accompany the team, which will leave Wellington by the Awatea on Tuesday afternoon and return to New .Zealand on March 8. The team will take part in a surf carnival at Coogee, but the main engagements will be the Australian surf championships at Bondi on February IP, and the Centenary InterDominion championship carnival at Manly a week later,
