CELEBRATION OF ASSOCIATION DAY The twenty-fourth annual Association Day of the Canterbury Commercial Travellers’ and Warehousemen’s Association was celebrated at a smoke concert in the Jellicoe Hall last evening. president, Mr R. E. Voller, presided, and the guest* of honour was Mr F. Milner, rector of Waitaki Bbys’ High School. Among other guests was the Mayor, Mr J. W. Beanland. The following toasts were honoured: “The King”; “The Day We Celebrate,” proposed by Mr F. Milner, C.M.G., and replied to by Mr R. E. Voller; “The United Commercial Travellers’ and Warehousemen’s Association of New Zealand.” proposed by Mr H. L. Babington and replied to by Messrs G. E. King and H. H. Wauchop; “Our Visitors.” proposed by Mr G. H. Christie; “Press and Performers.” proposed by Messrs L. S. Ayers and G. E. Hattan and replied to by Messrs J. S. Kelly and E, J. Jamieson. Songs were given by Messrs J. L. Tennent. W. Toomey, D. McGill, and C. J. Hindle, and a recitation by Mr A. E. Romeril. Other items were given by an orchestra under Mr E. J. Jamieson.
