ACCOUNTANT STUDENTS' SOCIETY

Impromptu and prepared speech contests were held last evening by the Christchurch Accountant Students' Society. The subject for the prepared speech was "The International Situation As I See It To-day." Constructive criticism of each speaker was giver by the judge Mr A. L.. M. Perry, whe made the following awards: —Mr G Gough 1, Mr J. C. Wornall 2. Th« cup for the winner was presented bj the president, Mr L. L. Smith. Ah essay competition, conducted bj the society, was won by Miss G. Good' rick, and Mr Wornall was second. Mi H. A. C. North presented prizes to, the placed competitors.
