THREE PRISONERS SENTENCED Three prisoners were sentenced by his Honour Mr Justice Northcroft in the Supreme Court yesterday moi nmg. Russell Frederick Organ (Dr. A. L. Haslam). a clerk, charged with theft, was sentenced to nine months' imprisonment with hard labour. In sentencing Organ, his Honour said that he would be failing in his duty if he admitted Organ to probation. Organ had been in a position of trust, and any leniency might teach others to think the Court took a venial view of such offences. On.a charge of attempted rape, Colin George Douglas (Dr. A. L. Haslam > was sentenced to two years' reformative detention. His Honour said the case was one in which the Prisons Board could confer with the mental hospital authorities as to the best course to be taken. A sentence of two years in a Borstal institution, to be served concurrently with a term he is at present serving, was imposed on James Noel Shore, who appeared for sentence on a charge of burglary.
