AEROPLANE STRIKES SEAGULL
PILOT HURT WHEN MACHINE NOSEDIVES (Received September 9, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, September 8. Alan Villiers, who was learning to fly, was preparing to land at the Southport airport when a seagull flew into the windscreen and rebounded into Villiers’ face. The aeroplane nosedived and Villiers suffered injuries to his head and face.
