DEMOLITION OF OLD COURTHOUSE

ACCOMMODATION FOR POLICE AT GERALDINE The old courthouse at Geraldine will be demolished soon and new accommodation will be provided for the police officer, according to advice received from the Minister for Justice (the Hon. H. G. R. Mason) at a meeting of the Geraldine Borough Council on Wednesday night. In his letter, the Minister said that a portion of the existing building was being put to a temporary use by the police officer, for whom other accommodation was being prepared. As soon as this was ready, it was proposed to demolish the old building. gift evening held at CLANDEBOYE * In view of the aproaching marriage of Miss Georgina Flett to Mr G. Lyali. their friends held an enjoyable gift evening in the Clandeboye Hall on Wednesday. The presentation of a silver tea service was made by Mr T. Langrell, who expressed best wishes for the future happiness of the guests. Music lor the dancing was played by Miss Irene Hoare. and Miss Patricia Coffey, and extras were played by Mr A. Lyali, and Mr H. Mallett Items were given by Mr T. Langrell, Mr M. J. Woodhead, and Mr A. F. Hesr. Mr J. Donehue was master of ceremonies.
