WHEELBARROW DERBY AT GERALDINE

A successful wheelbarrow derby and carnival evening was held In Peel street. Geraldine, on Wednesday night to assist the funds of the citizens’ 1 queen. Wheelbarrow races resulted:—. Soys: O. Eathome and F. Richards. High school boys: W. Shearer and J. Bowkett. Citizens' final: C. Eathorne and M. Watson. A special challenge was issued by Messrs A. M. Fyfe and J. Mcliroy. and was taken up by Messrs Lcn. Bennington and P. M. McKenzie. The race was won by the * challengers, the beaten team suffering a capsize*

An enjoyable “back-to-chlldhood” dance was held in the Town Hall later In the evening.
