ABDICATION LETTERS NOT TABLED
CANADIAN PARTY LEADER'S REQUEST REFUSED
(Received January 15, 5.5 p.m.) OTTAWA, January 14. Speaking in the House of Commons about his demand that the abdication correspondence be published, Mr J. S. Woodsworth, leader of the Commonwealth Federation party, challenged the right of the Government to propose a resolution of loyalty until Parliament gives its assent to the accession of King George. The Prime Minister (Mr W. L. Mackenzie King) said that the correspondence would not be tabled. The bill to ratify the accession, was given a first reading. j
