IMPERIAL AFFAIRS
PLANS FOR CONFERENCE LONDON, January 14. Preparations for the Imperial Conference are already well advanced. There will necessarily be a survey of trade within the Empire, but it is understood that the preliminary work is so far advanced as to occupy little of the conference's time, thus leaving the delegates free to devote their attention to Imperial communications, defence, .and the foreign policy. The reform of the league is expected to be an important item on the agenda, though no one is anxious to tackle this thorny problem. _________________
