FRENCH OPEN TITLE DALLEMAGNE BEATS COTTON IN REPLAY (united psxsa association—corrmioHT.) PARIS. July 2. Dallemagne beat Cotton by 139 to 140 In the French open golf championship replay, over 36 holes. Cotton just missed a 10-yard putt at the last hole for a tie. He was very tired, but he refused to retire, as suggested overnight. “RIDICULOUSLY SMALL” COTTON SPEAKS OF PRIZES OFFERED (UNITED PEES 8 ASSOCIATION—COPTBIUR.) (Received July 3, 8.30 p.m.) PARIS, July 2. T. H. Cotton, speaking at the presentation of prizes at the pavilion, said: “The prizes offered in French golf a r e fantastic. It is almost an insult to give such ridiculously small sums to some of the world’s best golfers. If you want good play in France, offer better money. I do not mean to cause illfeeling. I am simply putting the case of the players.” The speech was received in silence. Dallemagne’s prize was £BS and Cotton’s £52. Le Lievre won from Dr. Edglnton by default. Mrs C. S. Hardy beat Miss E. McKay, E. E. Eves beat Miss B. Jacobson. Miss S Armstrong beat F. Newton. Mrs Oliver beat Mrs Young, W.
