Mis Helen Jacobs, the American champion. to-day entered the women’s singles final' at Wimbledon for the fifth time. She defeated Mile J. Jedzrejowska (Poland) and will meet Mme. H. Sperling,, the German player, who -now lives in Denmark. Miss Jacobs has never won the event, although she was a finalist in 1929, 1932 1934, and 1935. and a semi-finalist in 1931 and 1933. Mme. Sperling, then Fraulein Hilde Krahwinkel. was runnerup to Fraulein C. Aussem (Germany) in 1931. „ , ■ A Mme. Sperling entered the Anal after a soporific match of long baseline rallies. Mme.
