ANNUAL MEETING OF PARISHIONERS The annual meeting of parishioners of the parochial district of Gust was held in the Parish Hall. i The churchwardens’ annual report i and balance-sheet was presented by j Mr Denis Chapman, the bishop’s war- i den, and showed a considerably improved financial position on the previous year. There was a small credit balance, and with the proceeds of the - recently-held bazaar and concert all outstanding liabilities will be met and a satisfactory credit balance left over with which to start the current year. The election of church Officers resulted as follows:—Bishop’s warden, Mr Deriis Chapman; people’s warden, Mr R. Henderson; vestrymen, Messrs F. G. Horrell, A. Callaway, R. Lang, R. Dawson, D. Maindonald, T. Lock, C. Lindsay, jun„ and Mesdames A. Ryde, C. Briggs, and C. Lindsay. Mr L. W. Harley was re-elected auditor. Silver Tree Evening The members of St. David’s Presbyterian Church held a very successful silver tree evening in aid of church - funds. During the evening pioving pictures of the opening of the church were given by Mr Evans, Summerhill. Items were given by Mesdames A. Lyttle (Christchurch) and Finch. Competitions were won by Miss Petrie and Mr Dewar. The sum of £4 15s 9d was taken. Minister Entertained The members of St. David’s Presbyterian choir entertained the Rev. W. H. Finch and Mrs Finch, who are leaving the district The evening passed with games, competitions, and community singing. Songs were sung by Mesdames Overend and Pinch, and a vocal duet was given by the Misses Barrie. Mr S. Smith, for the choir, presented Mr and Mrs Finch with a crystal rose bowl and Mr B.
