The members at the Scargill Miniature Rifle Club fired the fourth of the dub’s series or weekly handicap competitions on Saturday evening in conjunction with the second match in the Marth Canterbury Association’s tournament The scores were:—O. Hitchcock. No. 3: G. Greig. Women’s Institute There was a good attendance at the May f««f*teg of the Scargill-Motunau Women’s Institute. The president, Mrs W. Fleming, presided. Mrs A. Stone, wbo ana the delegate to the North Canterbury Federation Conference held at Christchurch recently, gave a resume g the proceedings at the conference, the competition for the best sxx sultana scones was won by Mrs W- Flemw vr** Mrs L. A number of parcels of were banded in to be forwafticd to the Salvation Army at Christchurch. A cadre stall was conducted for the funds of the institute. ui« L.
