NAVAL TREATY MAY BE SIGNED
ITALY EXPECTED TO JOIN AGREEMENT (BRITISH OIFICUL WIRELESS.) RUGBY, March 10. It appears probable that a threepower naval treaty will be signed next week. The technical sub-com-mittee has reached a full agreement on the qualitative limitation of all categories .of warships, subject to Italian reservations. Though Italy may not sign a naval treaty immediately the Italian delegation has done nothing to obstruct progress, and the feeling generally is that ultimately she will add her signature to those of the British, American, and French Governments., -•
The report ( of the technical subcommittee will be delivered first to a committee whose task it will be to crystallise it into treaty form. The only detail requiring completion is the framing of safeguarding clauses to meet various contingencies.
