CANTERBURY AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIPS THREE-DAY MEETING NEXT ~' MONTH . \ The Canterbury amaVeur athletic championships for 1936 will be spreac over three days instead of two, as in previous years. The meeting will be held at Lancaster Park on February 18, 21, and 22, and willb.e considerably enlarged through the addition of new junior events, providing a full championship programme for runners under 19. The programme has been drawn u£ as follows: — Tuesday, February 18, at 6 p.m.— Junior events, 880 yards, 120 yards hurdles, half-mile walk, pole vault hop, step, and jump, and throwini the javelin. '.'"'■ Friday, February 21, at 6 p.m.— Senior events: One mile, two-mil<-walk, long jump, throwing the ham mer, and throwing the discus; heats of 220 yards, 440 yards, 220 yard! hurdles, and 440 yards hurdles, i: necessary.
