AN INVESTITURE HELD
Lord Galway Confers Honours RECEPTION AT GOVERNMENT HOUSE (PKXSB ASSOCIATION TEUSOTUH.) WELLINGTON, December 2. The Governor-General (Lord Galway) held an investiture at Government House to-night, at which he conferred the honour of knighthood upon the Hon. E. A. Ransom, investing him with the insignia of a Knight-Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of St. Michael and St. George. His Excellency also invested Major-General Sir William Sinclair-Burgess with the insignia of a Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, and conferred upon Brigadier-General Sir Herbert Hart the honour of knighthood, and invested him with the insignia of the same order.
Later the Governor-General presented to Sir Francis Frazer the royal letters patent conferring upon him the degree, title, and dignity of a Knight Bachelor. Lord Galway subsequently presented insignia and decorations to the following:—

Andersen (Wellington), Mr A. K. Bell (Wellington), Mr W. Bromley (Wellington), Captain P. W. G. Spiers (Dunedin). Colonial Auxiliary Forces Officers' Decoration—Major R. Gardner (Wellington), Major J. P. E. Veale (Christchurch). Efficiency Decoration—Major J. J. Kean (Wellington), Major E. M. Stace (Wellington). The investiture was followed by a reception and a musical evening.
