ACCIDENTS
FARMER FATALLY INJURED (PBX3S ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) NEW PLYMOUTH, December 2. Alfred Marshall, an 80-year-old Inglewood farmer, whose car was wrecked at a private level crossing on Saturday morning when struck by a ballast train, died yesterday. He was a pioneer of the district.
YOUNG MAN DROWNED (PBESS ASSOCIATION TELEGKAM.I INVERCARGILL, December 2. Alexander Beange, aged 18 years, was drowned on Saturday afternoon while bathing in the Aparima river. With two companions he dived in. He came up struggling and then sank. A companion who went to his assistance was rescued with difficulty.
GIRL CYCLIST KILLED (PEBS3 ASSOCIATION TELEGBAM.) WAIROA, December 2. Valerie Joy Lawrence, aged 10 years, -was killed this afternoon when she collided with a lorry loaded with metal, She was riding a cycle, and tried to pass the lorry, which was driven by William Bafcer, a borough employee. She swerved in, and fell under a rear wheel, receiving head injuries. The lorry was pulled up a few >, When a doctor iarrtved within' a few minutes, the Kgirl .was dead.
