RACES AT REBCLIFFS CHRISTCHURCH CLUB'S EVENTS Conditions requiring the display at a high degree of lodgment and skill thoroughly tested participants in the. A, B, and 0. class races sailed by the Christchurch Tacit Club on Saturday afternoon. A strong easterly wind and an ebb tide combined sto make 'the water choppy, so that a number of boats found the going too hard and had to retire. ' ' Uncertainty about the finishing line marred an otherwise excellent race In the A class. Te Arai (A. T. Round) was in second place to Malay when she withdrew, her skipper thinking be bad crossed the linos. The new 18-footer Marlene (F. Morrison) also lost valuable time when it was discovered that the line had not been crossed. The course was the usual Skylark-Avon ran, twice round. The A class, boats started at 8,8 p.m., and the other classes at five minute intervals. Tha results were as follows :—• A CUm Malay (I. Trelenveu), lmln; 4hr 21min 17see .. • • .. 1 Setwnew (J. Dykes), 17min. .. Malay won this race easily,,and only on the run to Avon was she threatened, being overtaken by Te Arai. At thuMurn, however, Malay drew away and scored an easy win, Te Arai failing to cross the 4ine due to mistaking the finishing Post.

PLEASANT POINT CLUB The. Pleasant Point Yacht Club held two races during the week-end in good racing weather. On Saturday, there wus a good fresh breeze, with a choppy sea. Both races were evenly run. In the first race there was only five minutes between the arriving home of the first and last boats, and in the second, seven minutes. The results were:— First Race—Saltaire, 15min (B. Christensen), 1; Usher, scr (J. Knight), 2; Ramona, 15min (R. Sturrock) 3; Rata, 18min (W. Treleaven) 4. Second Race—Aloha, 22m!n (V.
