i I | BOY INJURED j KNOCKED OVER BY MOTOR-CAR William White, a youth 14£ years of I age, who'lives at 75 Fairfield avenue, | Sydenham, received head injuries when he was knocked from his bicycle by a motor-car at the corner of Fair- i field avenue and Antigua street about 5.20 yesterday afternoon. White was taken to the Christchurch Public Hospital by a St. John Amublance and admitted. His condition last night was reported to be satisfactory. MOTOR ACCIDENT VICTIMS TWO STILL SERIOUSLY ILL j Satisfactory progress is reported in j the condition of three of the persons | who were injured when their car crashed into a tramway pole in Moorhouse avenue 011 Tuesday evening. The other two victims, Mrs Margaret Mary Harrall and Mr George Unkovich, a traveller, of Hokitika, were still 'on the seriously ill list last night. The condition of Mrs Harrall, who received injuries to her legs and a fractured wrist, was reported to be only fair, and she was still semi-con-scious last night. A slight improvement.. however, was shown in the condition of Mr Unkovich, who suffered fractured ribs and face injuries. The condition of the other members of the party is as follows:—Mr Thomas Harrall, injuries to head and face, condition satisfactory; Mr Ernest SchoMeld, of Hope, Nelson, injuries to the back, slight improvement shown; and Mr J. Donaldson, of WestI port, slight head injuries and concusj sion, condition satisfactory. | CAR AND TRUCK COLLIDE j j | BOY INJURED AT HORNBY i j A cur which was being driven south along the Main road collided with a light truck which came out of a side road at Hornby last evening. The car was being driven by Mr Wright, of ; Dunsandel, arjd the truck by Mr F. Driscoll, of Sockburn. Both vehicles were extensively damaged. Neither of the drivers was hurt, but a boy who was travelling in the truck received cuts and abrasions. He was treated by Dr. F. W. Helmore, and was later taken to his home. I INJURED BY EXPLOSION ! Daniel Jamieson. aged 12, of Black- : ball, was seriously injured this afterj noon, when an explosion occurred, blowing up into his face, j The boy received injuries to an eye j and lacerations to the face, arms, and ! legs. He was attended by Dr. Hutson at Blackball, and later admitted to the Grey Hospital. The origin of the explosion is oi, present undisclosed. MAN'S FOOT AMPUTATED ! ! (J-BBSS ASSOCIATION HSLEOUAi:.) j AUCKLAND, November 14. Tom Briars, aged 36, a married man, of Titirangi Beach, was struck by a train near New Lynn late last night, receiving shocking injuries to a foot. The accident was not noticed by the train crew, and Briars crawled ulonf ; the track 100 yards before his shouts j brought help. An ambulance was" : called and the patient was taken to the I hospital, where the foot was amputated j this morning.
